In 2003, while working at Finnegan's Wake Irish pub in Hamburg City, there was a karaoke show which I was responsible for. It drew big crowds and the news reached us that a local child could do with a bit of support. The decision was then made to put on a special karaoke night to raise funds.
It was a great success and from then on the golf society decided to turn it into an annual event to help children both in Hamburg and the UK. Since then, we have raised over €32,000 towards the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and the Sternenbrücke here in Hamburg. Every year, we put on a Texas Scramble with teams of 4 and all money raised goes towards these fantastic causes.
This year is our 22nd anniversary and we look forward to having a great day and a successful financial result. Without the help and support of so many amazing donators throughout the last 21 years, this could never have been achieved. Doing what we are so passionate about with our friends in a team while at the same time helping kids is an absolute honour.
